Amanda Carter, high school math teacher, was named our 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year yesterday!
High school principal, Jeremy Martin said that she is the perfect choice for this honor. "Amanda Carter is an outstanding teacher who always gets the best out of her students," Martin said. "Every day, the administration, faculty, and students see how committed she is to her students and our school."
Carter shared that divine timing brought her to RCS three years ago. She shared that teaching is about seeing the lightbulb moments with her students as they grasp new concepts, as well as seeing her former students go on to find success in their lives.
She also added that she'd like to revamp the saying "those who can't do, teach" because being a teacher is far from a "deadbeat" job. She said she felt called to teach and I think anyone who knows her would agree. Mrs. Carter is an incredible teacher and an amazing person, and we are blessed to have her in our RCS family!
The American Red Cross Bus will be at RCS on July 10, 2024! If you are interested and able to donate blood, you can make an appointment by visiting redcrossblood.org and use Sponsor code: RCS or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). You can see the attached flyer for any additional details.

For those attending graduation this evening, please remember that the front parking lot is reserved for graduates, staff, and any handicapped attendees. Everyone else will need to park in the Woody Parking Lot behind the school and enter through the back entrance. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. and the ceremony begins at 7 p.m. We look forward to celebrating all our graduates this evening.
We've made it to the end of another year! To celebrate, we wanted to put together a special edition of The Bite to talk about just SOME of the highlights of this amazing year! This really only scratches the surface of all the amazing things that happened at RCS this year, but if we had mentioned every single team, student, and teacher who did incredible things this year, we would have been talking for hours! We are so thankful for everyone who has made this year so special! Happy Summer!

Thank you to all our teachers, students, board members, and school community for all your support throughout the process.
Going forward, we will be seeking additional feedback from parents and students via stakeholder surveys that will assist us in our school improvement process. Your input is greatly needed and appreciated. The next round of surveys will be sent out in the Fall of 2024.
We are continually striving to provide our students with the highest quality education. Thank you again for your support.
