If you kept your Chromebook over the summer to work on summer course work, please bring the Chromebook to school tomorrow (unless you have already done so). Mr. Whittemore will give you a replacement. If you can not come tomorrow, please email whittemoreec@roxborocs.org to come up with a plan for returning it. The old Chromebooks are being returned in the next few days.
Reminders About Upcoming Dates
Sixth Grade Transition Camp is Wednesday, August 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students do not have to follow the RCS dress code for Transition Camp, but no short-shorts or spaghetti straps are allowed.
Sixth Grade Open House is Monday, August 12, at 6 p.m. in the multipurpose room.
Seventh and Eighth Grade Open House is Monday, August 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room.
High School Open House is Tuesday, August 13, at 6 p.m. in the multipurpose room.
RCS High School Student Clubs will host a Club Fair prior to High School Open House on Tuesday, August 13, from 5:20 to 5:50 p.m. in the Athletic Lounge. This is a great opportunity for students and parents to learn about the various clubs here at RCS. Come learn about each club’s focus, activities, and when they get together.
The first day of school is Thursday, August 15. It and Friday, August 16 are flex days, with release at 12:30.

High school coed cross country practices will begin Thursday, August 1. The practices will take place at Mayo Park (park’s office) at 8:30 am. All runners must have a current physical on file.
The Fall Sports Athletic Preseason Meeting for high school and middle school parents will be Wednesday, August 7, at 6 p.m., in the gym. Athletic packets will be handed out, and paperwork will be turned in at this meeting. This includes High School Volleyball, Cheer,Cross Country, Men's Soccer and Women's Tennis, Women's Golf, and Middle School Volleyball, Cheer, Girls' Tennis and Boys' Soccer.

RCS Student-Athletes, if you get a sports physical at FastMed in Roxboro during the month of August, RCS could win $5,000.
NC Senate Youth Program Open to Juniors, Seniors
Middle School schedules are still being tweaked, to best balance classes, so parents and students should be aware that schedules could be changed slightly before being finalized.
All students taking PCC classes during the 2019-20 school year are required to attend (parents/guardians are welcome!) one of the following events:

High School Students: Due to the high volume of appointment requests we're extending the drop/add window from 8:30-12:30 to 8:30 - 3:00. Drop/Add will also open through the first 10 days of school.
